Jigging World AMF Popping Rod

The Jigging World AMF Popping Series is built for anglers targeting larger pelagic species with topwater plugs and stickbaits, combining serious lifting power with a more forgiving bend under load.

Constructed from 24T Japanese carbon fiber, the AMF Popping series is designed for bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, bigeye tuna, and other powerful offshore fish. The blank has the backbone needed for larger-class fish, but with a more moderate fighting curve to help reduce angler fatigue during long battles.

Understanding the P Rating

The P200, P300, P400, and P500 designations are Jigging World’s model/power ratings for the AMF Popping series. The number is not a direct line-weight or lure-weight rating. As the P number increases, the rod steps up in overall power and is intended for progressively heavier tackle and larger fish.

Red Top Tip: Don’t choose an AMF based on the P number alone. Match the rod to the line class, lure weight, and size of fish you’re targeting. The P200 and P300 are lighter options, while the P400 and P500 step up significantly for heavier tuna work.
